What is Hydrojetting?
Hydrojetting is a safe and highly successful method for clearing out all debris in your plumbing lines. A rotating nozzle is fed into the pipe. As it snakes its way through the line, it blasts water at extremely high pressures (usually from 7,000-60,000 PSI) to scour the pipe walls and completely clear them of all debris. Whether it’s corrosion, grease, or sludge, the hydrojet stream is able to remove the most stubborn debris clinging to pipe walls. All debris is then flushed out through the other end of the pipe. This method is 100% safe on your plumbing and the environment because it only uses water, no other chemicals.
When Do You Need Hydrojetting?
You may be wondering whether you need hydrojetting or just a drain snaking service. Both options are performed by our plumbers. Drain snaking is carried out when the clog is closer to the drain opening and easy enough for us to reach; the snaking tool is then used to punch through the clog and break it up so it is easily flushed out of the line. Hydrojetting, on the other hand, is used for drain problems resulting from heavy buildup—something that a simple drain snake cannot eliminate.
Our plumbers may recommend hydrojetting to solve any of the following issues:
- Low water pressure
- Persistent clogging
- Tree root invasion
- Heavy corrosion
Many homeowners believe that they need to replace their pipeline when it becomes corroded. This is not always the case, though. In many cases, a hydrojetting service can eliminate the corrosion and leave your pipes looking and flowing like new. A trusted plumber will be able to tell you if hydrojetting is the right service for you. At 24-7 Plumbing And Drain we won’t recommend full pipe replacement unless it’s absolutely necessary.

With tree root problems, we will first cut through the roots using a mechanical snake. Then we will continue with hydrojetting. Neglecting to cut the roots first will cause them to scratch and damage your pipe walls.
